time and study for soapmaking.png

Hugging Bubbles began not in a factory or a focus group, but in a quiet kitchen — where herbs steeped in oils and a mother shaped a bar of soap with care. Born from the need for something truly gentle — no harsh chemicals, no perfumes masking problems — it grew into a practice grounded in respect: for the skin, the land, and the ancient knowledge that connects the two.

Our soaps are cold-processed in small batches, then cut and trimmed entirely by hand. Many include herbs grown in our own Montana garden — distilled into hydrosols, infused into oils, or gently coaxed into essential oils. Whenever possible, we support our local community, sourcing honey, tallow, eggs, and dairy from nearby farmers whose values echo our own. Every ingredient tells a story — of land, care, and connection.

Inspired by the Five Elements 五行 — Wood 木, Fire 火, Earth 土, Metal 金, and Water 水 — we believe in balance over perfection.

In honoring skin as it changes with the seasons. In letting nature be enough.

From eczema-friendly bars to rich body soaps and gentle shampoo solids, Hugging Bubbles offers more than a cleanse. Each bar is a quiet ritual of care — one that rises softly from the roots, nourishing both body and soul.

We blend herbal wisdom from East and West — Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, and aromatherapy — guided by a careful understanding of modern formulation science. Each bar is designed not only for skin type, but for water type, for climate, and for the way skin feels at the close of the day.

Why Huggng, why Bubbles?

Hello, my name is Celina, I’m the founder of Hugging Bubbles— a lifelong student of nature’s wisdom, a mother, a yoga instructor, and a woman who believes that healing starts at home.

I was born in China, where TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) was part of daily life — herbs in soups, seasonal rhythms, and the belief that nature reflects the body. That quiet knowledge stayed with me as life took me to Japan, where I spent 20 years building a home and raising a family.

MEET the Bubble Maker
~A personal story from heart to hands~

Soapmaking began as a mother’s instinct. My infant son developed eczema, and I was determined to find a natural, gentle way to help. The first cold-process bar I made worked like a miracle — and from that moment, I knew I had found something meaningful.

While completing my master’s degree, I began studying Chinese medicine independently — drawn by a deep curiosity. I dove into its philosophy, especially the 五行(Five Elements) — 金(Metal), 木(Wood), 水(Fire), 火(Fire), and 土(Earth) — and how they shape our energy, our skin, and our seasons. At the same time, I trained in aromatherapy, explored Ayurveda, and taught yoga — weaving care into both my home and my work as I raised my children and growing alongside my husband.

Now living in the peaceful Bitterroot Valley of Montana, I grow many of the herbs I use, distill hydrosols, and even extract essential oils by hand. My soapmaking is shaped by land, love, and the healing systems that connect them.

Hugging Bubbles is the extension of that path — a gentle, grounded offering from my hands to yours.

Hugging Bubbles in Hand

Why Bubbles? Why Hugs?

A bubble is more than lather —
it’s breath made visible,
a shimmer of joy rising between earth and sky.

A hug is more than arms —
it’s memory and comfort,
the body’s way of saying “I see you.”

We named this little world Hugging Bubbles
because that is what each bar carries:
a soft embrace between skin and wild herbs,
hand-poured, hand-cut,
infused with mountain oils and quiet calm.

We make bubbles that hug,
and hugs that cleanse —
not just the skin, but the spirit too...

Why Bubbles? Why Hugging?
