At Hugging Bubbles, every shampoo bar is a quiet reflection of care — a marriage of ancestral wisdom, organic purity, and high-craft artistry. Each one carries not only nourishment, but the heart of a journey — from soil to spirit, from herb to hair.
Rooted in years of study in herbalism, Ayurveda, and Traditional Chinese Medicine, our founder designs each formula to meet the scalp in its ever-changing rhythm. Every batch is stirred slowly by hand — never with machines — honoring the natural flow and life of each ingredient.
We never use coconut oil — not even in trace amounts. Instead, our bars are composed of organic, rare, food‑grade oils and butters once reserved for luxury facial care: camellia, murumuru, cupuaçu, kokum, illipe, shea butter, golden sesame, perilla seed, meadowfoam, mango butter, and home‑rendered grass‑fed tallow. These are chosen not for cost, but for purpose — to cleanse gently, balance deeply, and restore radiance.
To this foundation, we add our home‑brewed infusions and elixirs — flaxseed gel folded fresh into the blend, Japanese rice milk brewed in small batches, and 艾叶 (mugwort), 何首乌 (He Shou Wu), 当归 (Dang Gui), 侧柏 (Biota leaf), 皂荚 (Soap pod), and 蚕茧 (Silk cocoon), each drawn from Traditional Chinese Medicine for their ability to strengthen, clarify, and revive the scalp’s vital energy.
From Provence’s lavender fields to the herbs we harvest by hand from the Bitterroot Valley, every element tells a story — a bridge between worlds, between tradition and the modern ritual of care.
Each bar is one‑of‑a‑kind — formulated for a specific scalp, season, and intention. No two are ever the same. That patience, that difference, is what defines our craft.
