Crafting Beauty from
The Heart Behind Every Bar
Where roots, rivers, and quiet hands come together — to craft something real for your hair.
Our shampoo bars are the soul of Hugging Bubbles. Not just our bestsellers — they’re the bars we make with the most intention, and the deepest care.
And we think people feel that.
Not because of a label. But because of what’s inside — and what’s not.
Not Just Ingredients — Stories
Every bar is stitched from memories and moments.
It might begin with aloe from a friend’s greenhouse, or nettle gathered after mountain rain. It might carry tallow from a nearby farm, or a herb brought home from a place far, far away — chosen simply because it’s the best.
We don’t just source globally. We go. To the Yunnan highlands of China for green thorn fruit oil. To the rice fields of Niigata, Japan for our Koshihikari rice — the starchiest and most nutritious we’ve ever worked with. To Goto Island, Japan for tsubaki oil. And into the forests of Sichuan for herbs wild with history.
These aren’t ingredients you’ll find in most shampoo bars — not because they’re not worthy, but because most have never even heard of them. We have. We studied them. We followed them home.
It matters where something grows, who picks it, and how it’s handled. We choose the best origin — not the easiest one.
We don’t take shortcuts. These ingredients weren’t picked from catalogs — they were found through years of deep study in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, and aromatherapy.
Some ingredients come in boxes.
Ours come in stories.
The Recipe Is the Real Treasure
These bars aren’t just about ingredients. They’re about how they were made.
Each formula is original — a quiet accumulation of time, trials, and trust. Born from studying how herbs speak to skin, how oils shift with seasons, how the scalp responds to what it's given.
They weren’t borrowed. They can’t be recreated.
Woven into each one are rare, little-known oils you’ve likely never heard of — but your scalp will recognize. We studied them, chased them across mountains and coasts, and watched how they transformed hair.
Not the trendy oils — the right ones.
They don’t need explaining. Because your scalp will know.
And it won’t lie.
Why It Costs More — And Why We’re Okay With That
We could’ve chosen simpler oils.
But we chose the good ones — rare, unrefined, cold-pressed, organic, and untouched by pollution. The kind your grandmother saved for something sacred.
Each bar is made with more time, more care, more goodness. It lasts longer, lathers better, and leaves behind something real.
Coconut-Free, With Pride
Yes — our shampoo bars are proudly coconut oil–free.
Not because coconut is "bad," but because we’ve met so many scalps that said, "please, not that again."
If your skin has ever felt tight or itchy after shampoo bars, this might be why →
So we listened. We searched. We found gentler oils — ones that soothe, not strip.
Grown. Gathered. Given with Care.
Some ingredients grow in our garden.
Some are picked wild. Some come from local farms, by hands we trust.
And some travel far — but they’re always chosen for their soul, never for trend.
Because to us, a shampoo bar isn’t just for washing. It’s for healing. For remembering. For coming home.
